YASIR MUHAMMAD is excited to be working with Face Off Theatre Company for the first time! He plays “Xavier,” a concerned father desperately trying to keep his son out of the school-to-prison pipeline. The rising Western Michigan University senior is pursuing his bachelor’s in fine arts in theatre with a focus on acting. At WMU, Yasir appeared in another Dominique Morisseau play, “Blood at the Root,” and has also tried his hand at directing with David Mamet’s “Glengarry Glen Ross.” The Detroit native plans to move to Atlanta after he graduates to find work in film and television and more opportunities to sharpen his newfound love for directing. He also has a deep passion for social advocacy on a plethora of matters, including LGBTQIA+ matters, Black rights and racial-political matters, and says he would love to identify ways to educate those who are less knowledgeable on subjects that hinder progressive growth as a people collectively.
